Our story

Four decades
in the making.

Power Expectations is the union of companies that have wired, powered, and backed up Florida's homes and businesses since 1983 — brought together into one platform, and now trusted with an island.

The road here

From the service truck to the substation.

Every rung of the ladder — residential, commercial, industrial, utility — was climbed by doing the work, keeping the lights on, and earning the next job.

  1. 1983

    Cook Electric

The oldest company in the family opens its doors — electrical contracting for Florida's builders, businesses, and homeowners. The trade our platform is built on.

  2. 2009

    Florida Generators

An authorized Generac and Kohler dealer serving South Florida from St. Lucie to Broward County — standby and emergency generation for homes and businesses: the discipline of power that must come on when the grid goes down.

  3. 2011

    Power Expectations

Power Expectations, Inc. is established in South Florida, serving residential and commercial generation customers — and becomes the name the family of companies rallies around.

  4. 2010s

    The roll-up

Cook Electric, Florida Generators, East Coast Management, and other operators come together under one platform — residential, commercial, and industrial power under a single standard, backed by state-certified electrical contracting.

  5. 2020s

    Puerto Rico

Power Expectations establishes operations in Puerto Rico, laying the groundwork — solar, infrastructure, relationships — for the largest work of its life.

  6. Today

    Utility scale

Puerto Rico awards Power Expectations a 10-year mandate to deliver temporary generation at the Aguirre Power Plant — 400 MW, scalable to 600 MW, in partnership with PREPA. The full spectrum, complete: residential to utility.

Like the utilities we now stand beside, we didn't start at the top — we built our way there.

The next chapter is being written now.
